From a nurse magazine:
Digital Mammogram Best for Young
Digital mammography, according to a new study, is better than traditional film mammography at spotting breast cancers in young women or those with dense breasts. Researchers from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine reported in the journal Radiology that results confirm earlier findings and better define who will benefit from the newer, more costly digital exams.
The study included nearly 50,000 women and looked at the results of The Digital Mammographic Imaging Screening Trial, which started in 2001 and compared the two types of mammograms.
Now all that is interesting, but I have my own personal theory on why younger and younger women are getting breast cancer. Has something to do with the American diet and <gasp> formula feeding as infants.
I heard about a new book Eat Food (not much) Mostly Plants. Has anyone else heard of it? I can't find it :-( Pat in SNJ
