For those of you that have experience with adoptive mothers.
I have searched the archives and have read the information in Lawrence,
Newman and Riordan regarding adoption and induced lactation. I have a client
that plans to adopt. She is in just the beginning phase, so she doesn't know
how far ahead she is in planning. She has a daughter she gave birth to and
successfully breastfed. I'm not sure how long but I know she left her job to be
at home and nurse her child.
Do you feel that by beginning pumping now would be the best treatment for
her? Do you think she needs to take hormones like Orthonovuum for 9 months
along with Metoclopfamide. We are in the United States so Domperidome is
not an option for her and she and her husband are not willing to do compound
pharmacy. They are both in the health field. I did talk with her about a
supplemental nurser system. Before any further suggestions I would like to
hear from those of you with more exprerience.
