First Years Pump. My clients have done nothing but complain about this. It
seems to not have either psi or cycling times that are at all similar to an
infant's pattern, nor is the cycling and negative pressure consistent. (I know
some of these cheap, battery operated pumps can take over a minute to
reach critical negative pressure, and even then, each pressure cycle (suck)
can be radically different in strength. Saw a few moms, a few years back using
this and the Evenf** who had circular bruises on their breasts from the
inconsistent and often excessive negative pressure.
IMO, when it comes to pumps, one gets what one pays for. If she wants a
good occasional use battery pump, have her get one from an LC who also sells
pumps from a company which makes good quality hospital rental pumps.
At least she didn't open it, it should be returned.
Good luck.
