Galactogil is quite famous, very well known by the pharmacists in France,
the country which is also famous for no-breastfeeding or
difficult-breastfeeding..... as far as I am concerned, I can actually note
that more women start breastfeeding and there are more mothers who
breastfeed and work, who breastfeed toddlers but we still have the same
troubles at the same periods of postpartum and the same causes..... but we
act, we act :-)

Galactogil is a bottle of granules composed of:
syrupy extract of malt 480 mg
goat's rue dry extract 38,3 mg
tricalcium phosphate
vanillin, cumin essence, fennel essence, saccharose (lot of saccharose!!)
This drug contains two substances which stimulate the milk production. It
also brings calcium and phosphorus.
It is used for the woman who nurses, in the event of insufficiency of
secretion of milk.
This drug should not be used in the event of calcium excess in blood or the
urines, with or without lithiasis.
Caution: This drug contains sugar (saccharose) in notable quantity.
Interactions of drug GALACTOGIL with other substances
Because of the presence of calcium, respect a 2 hours interval between
taking this drug and taking the cyclines or the diphosphonates.
In addition inform your pharmacist or your doctor if you take the digitalis
drugs or the diuretic ones.
Instructions and posology of drug GALACTOGIL
The pellets must be taken before the meals, dry or watered in herb tea or
milk, water glass.
Usual posology:
Adult: 1 or 2 spoons with soup, 3 times per day.

IN FRANCE:
When women "have" a low production of milk, they always are proposed formula
+ bottle for the child, and sometimes Galactogyl for themselves;
As far as I know, the quantities are not enough high to have a positiv
impact on the milk production
and alas.... there is never the first proposal to nurse more frequently;
By way of anecdote: very often, mothers breastfeed very frequently during
the first month, with will of the baby; end of first month, visit by the
doctor, who says: you breastfeed to frequently, you should nurse 5 times a
day; one month later, the baby is no more thriving well, and the same doctor
says: you do not have enough milk, you must stop breastfeeding or start
giving formula;
On the other hand, I can say that moms love taking pills instead of adding
breastfeedings :-(
