about contraceptives with hormones. YES I have seen the mini-pill and
progesterone only pills cause major milk supply problems.. Also the new Mirena
IUD. One OB actually YELLED at me for telling my client and her patient that
the pill may have caused the drop in supply. that is definitely what my
experience is--I don't care what the research is on this. Jack Newman is the
ONLY one I could find who agrees with me. All other books I've seen quote
the standard line. It's a crime, in my opinion, that mothers aren't warned
about the possibilty of a decrease in milk supply. fortunately, when they stop
the hormones, milk supply rebounds!
