Guar gum is used to thicken store brand ice creams in the US, as is
carrageenan (I know THAT's a form of our old friend. seaweed!)
And on the subject of thickened breastmilk - Ina May Gaskin once told us
about making ice cream from extra breastmilk on The Farm. I suppose it would
be worth contacting her for the recipe, to see if it might be okay for this
babe. (I must say she never fails to delight, amuse and distract us....This
particular time, one of our male OB's was sitting next to me and when I
wiggled on that one, he whispered, "I'm always so glad when you invite me to
these get-togethers!" and grinned. We are after all the nudity capital of
the US along with our plans to arrest Bush and Cheney....so this ice cream
idea was just a ripple. Fudge ripple??!!)
A little something to balance grumpy Rachel. Hmm, maybe we can put these
posts together for something worth throwing!
