Hi again. Thanks for the responses! It is my understanding that sts works
better than the warmer. The baby I described in my first post is healthy and
full term. With a rectal temp of 96.8 would you have to use a warmer first
before trying sts? Based on the studies, wouldn't sts with a warm blanket
work just as well or better? I am not sure I understand placing the warmer
over mom and baby doing sts. In normal situations isn't sts with warm balnkets
sufficient to bring up baby's temp? I have done a lot of reading about sts, and
I want to reassure the nurses that in most cases it should be the first
intervention. Thanks again.
