Part of a recent post by Diane Wiessinger, MS, IBCLC, LLLL; Ithaca, NY; USA:
Breastfeeding is influenced more by mainstream cultural voices the first
time, but less with each subsequent child as we realize that the mainstream
culture doesn't know what it's talking about. Has that been others'
experience?
Yes, but I never expressed it so clearly and succinctly. I burst out loud
with nervous laughter when I read your line: The mainstream culture doesn't
know what it's talking about. That's a sad commentary on our society;
however, it was such a great tension reliever because of the support I felt
for my viewpoint. Thanks Diane!
Warm regards,
Lee
