I totally agree.
In our local birth group, it is a fine line to walk, because there are
moms who figured it out, who want to lay it on the line for the moms
who haven't quite gotten it yet, and that kind of enlightenment by
force is pretty awful. They don't let anybody get away with the "oh,
it just happened to me" stuff.
Maybe I should get a LLL communication skills person to come up and do
us a short workshop to see if we can get a handle on the empathy part.
