Sorry if this is too late, or if I've missed a post with the same
points... I think I've caught them all..
Nestle was a German company, that moved lock stock and barrel to
Switzerland.
In terms of the paper, a look at how the emergence of the European Union
has impacted on trade barriers and trade agreements in both the
European, and global, context, would fit very well with this company.
Especially as it does not trade in formula in such countries as the UK,
even 'tho it is a 'European' company. There is a rich economic and
political aspect to looking at how it has responded to boycott and how
it manipulates trading barriers. The recent ruling in Belgium about the
death of the baby fed formula in the hospital, would be an end point in
terms of both the report (how legal requirements allow no warnings on
the formula, yet at the same time the courts stated risk was known and
accepted) and the teacher's scepticism. The European Union is pretty
central to any study of Europe!
Obviously, she'll have the urls for both Baby Milk Action and Mike
Brady's boycott blog. :-)
