Sometimes moms will let the baby bfd first and then let the toddler nurse. The
mom thinks that this way the baby is certain to get what she needs. But
sometimes it means the baby gets overloaded on foremilk while the big guy
gets the hindmilk that would help with the stooling.
In your friend's doing that, maybe she could switch the order of her children
nursing. If the toddler drank the gush of foremilk, the baby would get the
slower flowing hindmilk, get more calories, have more normal bfd stools, and
maybe also not have so much trouble with milk leaking out her nose.
