Nikki and all,
Having been a bone marrow transplant nurse, I know that the
donor goes under anesthesia and they 'harvest' marrow, usually from the
iliac crests. The only risk is anesthesia. I bet that as the anesthesia
wears off, she is good to continue breastfeeding. She needs to keep up
with fluids as it's also a bit like donating a unit of blood.
It was 20 yrs ago that I did this specialty, but I don't think
this part has changed. I don't think bf should need to be interrupted.
