Every once in a while the list mothers get a request from subscribers to
have one or more of their posts deleted from the archives. This is just a
friendly reminder that we are unable to remove posts from the archives.
This is stated in the Welcome Note, but as it is updated periodically and
some of you may not have read it since you subscribed over a decade ago, I
wanted to post the two bullets from the Welcome Note that indicate that we
cannot delete posts once they are sent.

* All posts to Lactnet are archived and retrievable by others. If you don't
want something to be stored in the archives, don't post it.

* All messages are public so you should post only what you are willing to
have printed on the front page of the NY Times! Also, please bear in mind
that if you do a "Google search" with your name, your Lactnet posts will
likely score as hits. It is important to reiterate that posts CANNOT be
removed from the archives.

If you want to get a current copy of the "rules of the road" for Lactnet,
you can do so by sending the command "get lactnet welcome" to
[log in to unmask]

Thanks!
Kathy
