When mine was nearly two, we went to a wedding.  He was poddling around, 
getting into every corner of the wedding reception.  We spent a long 
time with him exploring the area that food was going to be served in, 
out of the way of the staff - but, inevitably, the staff was drawn to him.

One young waitress, delighted in laughing and playing with him, and we 
got to chatting about how much fun it was to be a mother.  I was glowing 
with it, and she said "Is it really good fun?" and without thinking 
about it, I replied "It is if you breastfeed!"  and she said "Oh, all 
the immune things and that?"  And I airily waved my hand in the air and, 
again, from the hip, said "Oh it's got all that, but it's also got Joy 
Juice!  You just gotta go with a system that fills your brain with Joy 
Juice! Any time you feel it's getting you down, just sit them down and 
flood your brain with Joy Juice!"  She was so shocked, in a good way!  I 
even said "And it costs nothing and they can't arrest you for it!"

If I'd been 'thinking' about it, I'd never have said.  But, you know, I 
just _know_ that will have stuck in her brain more than anything else.

I agree, we need to encompass a range of responses, for a range of 
audiences, for a range of info. 

Sometimes we need our hearts to speak first.
