I think you said you referred one back to her OB. Thats good. I would be
interested to see what their blood pressures are. Especially the mommy 12
days pp. I would encourage nursing in sidelying position so their legs stay up
to help eliminate the fluid. They really need to be off their feet as much as
possible. Drink to thirst but don't over do. I would also encourage lemon in
their water. Start the day with a glass of water, it jump starts the kidneys.
Also, a small amt of caffeine as with a cup of tea, or ice tea with lemon. Not
too much. moderation is the key.

1. Stay off of their feet as much as possible

2. breastfeed on their sides, feet elevated as much as possible

3. Start off the day with a glass of water and lemon juice

4. small amt of caffeine

5. check blood pressure

6. pray they don't have toddlers! and these are their first babies :)

7. Their are some diretics that are better than others, but I dont' have my
Hale book with me at home. Hopefully, she / they can keep it on the natural
side, like small amt of caffeine and cucumbers, watermelon, water with fresh
lemon.

8. Encourage them to rest. Sounds like they may be over doing it a bit.
When you are bloated from too much fluid, it is amazing how fast your body
gets rid of it when you lie down on your side, especially the left.
I was on bedrest with both babies because of pre-eclampsia. I lost 3 -5 lbs in
water weight in the first week. Same thing when I delivered.
Good luck, hope they do just fine.
