**sigh** I like to read lactnet to learn, not to have to think... (grin)
One of the symptoms of an estrogen dominant woman is increased body fat and
weight gain. When women go on the estrogen based BCP, they tend to gain
weight, and lose breastmilk. Estrogen and progesterone have a balance, and
when one is too high, issues arise in the endocrine system including thyroid
and blood sugar metabolism. Estrogen creates progesterone receptors,
progesterone increases response of the estrogen receptors. Progesterone BCP
also seem to affect milk supply, is this because they increase the
sensitivity of the estrogen receptors?
This was supposed to be my day off... A chance to work on my chicken yard
and not have any cogent thoughts. Guess that's going to change as I have to
mill about new concepts!
Best wishes from a blustery Ohio Day!
