Dear All:

This video is not perfect. Some say the setting is wrong and that there are
too many people around. There are others that accept the crowd as part of the
event. There is no eye contact between mother and baby. This births setting
is said to be "wrong" compared with some other points of view.

However, it is the only one of its kind on the Internet. Widstrom said that
mothers mothered differently, and kept their babies with them longer, if the
baby's mouth merely touched the mothers' nipple and areola. There was no
mention of them looking at each other. Winikoff said that early suckling had the
strongest impact on breastfeeding.

The birth setting is not one I would want; it seems as disruptive as any
technologically driven birth in my country. I wonder how many labor and deliver
like that.

Yet the baby self-attaches.

For me, that is the point. I want people to see that no matter how dismal
the birth setting, or culturally varied. the baby can still self-attach.

warmly,
