At our tertiary hospital here in Western Australia we do not sterilise
bottles and teats regardless of contents being EBM or ABM as long as the
equipment is used by only one mother and baby. A mother keeps all her own
equipment in her room and is taught how to wash it e.g. cold rinse, hot
soapy wash, hot rinse, dried and stored in container in their room. If the
item is not single mother use only (e.g. electric breast pump equipment)
once the mother has finished with the item it is cleaned as above and then
sent to be thermally disinfected or steam sterilised.

Happy to send the references our health department operation circular quoted
if you want to contact me privately.
