Dear Friends:
Diane Wiessinger has been on spree, hasn't she. I love watching her brain at
work!
The following paragraph is at the end of the article in Pediatrics that she
sent us to read.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
"The present follow-up evaluation of growth, visual development, and
neurodevelopmental outcomes at 39 months found no adverse effects or benefits of
infant formula supplemented with DHA or with both DHA and ARA. It seems that the
lower vocabulary scores at 14 months reported previously may have been
transient or occurred by chance. In conclusion, providing both DHA and ARA when
supplementing infant formulas with long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids
supports visual and cognitive development through 39 months."

I am confused. There is nothing bad or good about supplemented formula, so
supplemented formula is okay? It's worth the extra cost to pay more for
something that has no benefits or adverse effects?
