Diana,
We have a brochures available on Nursing in Public, specific to New York State, that are intended both to educate mothers and the general public, as well as poster versions meant to be displayed in settings where the audience is not nursing moms, but those whom they encounter. They have been given out in response to situations like this previously and met with surprisingly positive responses.
I can e-mail a file picture of them to anyone who is interested in seeing them, and if you are interested can certainly send out hard copies as well.
For this mother in particular has she considered calling the NYCLU? I know they have worked with other mothers in cases like this where her civil liberties where obviously being denied.
