I mentioned recently using castor oil packs, and have been asked to describe
it t the group:
I do not know why castor oil works, or how...it just often does. A mom will
call in with a plug, say she has been using heat before and massage while
expressing, but if she adds a castor oil moist pack it often does the trick
within 12 hours.
Directions: Apply castor oil to a warm, moist washcloth folded to size to
cover area involved. place something plastic (like saran wrap) and a
heating pad on low over that....let sit about 20 mins before nursing or
pumping. Then nurse or pump while massaging area. Repeat every 2-3
hours before feeds.
Is this from LLL? I can't remember for sure...
