Really, the more I think about this the less sense it makes. So, the only way I know how to
test whether foremilk/hindmilk is really a part of the fussy baby syndrome that is variously
attributed to oversupply, OAMR, and GERD would be to tease out this one component.
You could only ethically do this with breast milk feeding moms. Randomly assign one group
to do the creamatocrit tests such as those Paula Meiers did. There would be three groups
of lactoengineered milk: Have them pump according to the three methods --- 1) pump a
little off first, then keep the rest that the pump. 2) Pump in block feeding style. 3) Pump in
block feeding style with a drain em dry first morning pump. 4) Then assign the other
control group to just give their milk without doing anything to it a all. This would then tell
us whether we need to lactoengineer or just focus on other measures to resynchronize mom
and baby.
