the key is: If they found pus, then that means infection and a walled off
abscess is not unusual. Was the mom ever febrile, or had pain when she first
discovered the lump? It seems the body walled it off very successfully.
Since this was an unusual case, I would definitely ask the mother to monitor
this area very well and have good follow-up with the doctor on its
resolution.
