Mavis, I just went and looked at my papers. This was a long time ago, and I
realized that I had already sat for the exam, and been given my IBCLC
*before* I began work as a PostPartum Doula.
I am sorry for the confusion.
Virtually every job I have had, since I was about 9 years old has been working
with babies, the years, and what letters I had after my name each time tend
to run together.
Sorry for the confusion.
Mavis, if you work for an Agency, as I did, is there a way to get the hour or
two you work per shift only on Breastfeeding "supervised?" I know, when I was
working as a Doula, we did have women working on their IBCLCs and I am
pretty sure they were using a few hours per shift, if the mother was
breastfeeding.
