Teaching bottle
feeding in group environments or before there is a demonstrated need
similarly undermines breastfeeding.

~~ Ah see this is really getting somewhere. How and who determines the need.
Is it the mom who says I really want to continue breastfeeding even though I
am back at work by 6 weeks? Is it a group of moms who come to a support group
meeting solely because they are worried about this when they go back very
soon after the meeting? We are challenged here as to whether we answer their
honest questions about how to continue breastfeeding when separated, or tell
them we can't tell them anything but they can pay someone one-on-one to help
them? I keep thinking about how what Chris said and that the Code was
designed to protect mothers from aggressive marketing of breastmilk subsitutes and
paraphernalia that undermines breastfeeding. Is it working for moms and their
babies in this instance?

Peace,
Judy
