Subject: [LACTNET] Political or sharing viewpoints?
It bothers me when someone says, in effect, "That doesn't affect me here in
West Southeastland, it doesn't belong on Lactnet!" We can all learn from
each other if only to say to ourselves that we are glad we don't face the
same issues or we are envious that "they have it so good". Our world is so
interconnected that we can no longer be so isolationist that we only want to
hear about and deal with what applies to us individually.
Winnie, stepping down from my soapbox!
**(I'll take your place... ;o))
I feel addressed a little by your posting. I didn't mean to say with mine
(yesterday evening) that we should only talk about what affects our own
'village'. Of course we can learn a lot from oneanother. That, however,
doesn't mean, like you said, that what goes for one area, is something we
all have to agree to. We are all in different areas with different
circumstances and therefore often need different approaches. What works in
one area, doesn't necessarily work in the other. What is a big issue in one
part of the world, may be minor in the other, a.s.o.a.s.f.
Well, one issue is the same all over... children need to get a well prepared
dinner one time a day, so I'll prepare one for mine! :o) (6.11 pm)

Marianne Vanderveen,
