Mom needs to go to www.llli.org , and puruse their excellent pages on breastfeeding and the law. She also needs to contact the human resources dept at her company, and her supervisors -- in addition to hiring a good *employment lawyer.*
Her rights as an employee are being toyed with in a very unattractive fashion -- regardless of her lactation status. Many BF moms (and their zealous IBCLCs ....) get caught up in focusing only on the lactation part. Who else is being given a few weeks notice, with threat of firing, for trying to find appropriate accomodations on a work-related trip? Would someone who uses a CPAP machine to breathe at night be denied access to such equipment? Would someone who has an asthma attack, triggered by NYC pollution, be denied access to a nebulizer very four hours for treatment?
Her rights will spring from her place of employment -- CO -- not the location of the intended crappy treatment.
