I wanted to respond to the question double select pump vs. pump in style.
The double select pump has the convenience of double pumping but does not
have the motor capacity to use multiple times. If this mom is pumping only she
will burn up the motor within 3-6 months. The swing and the pump in style is
made for multi-use. She would benefit from the swing or pump in style
advanced only because it has two phase cycling. I do not have any financial
gain from medela. I try to have my moms start with a hospital grade pump
until their milk supply is established and then they can do well with the
commercial pumps. In some cases where their insurance covers the
commercial pumps they don't want to rent the hospital grade. But I found
they aren't able to keep up their supply as long. I hope this helps. I work for a
hospital and we have a store with supplies on the unit.
