I can relate to Dawn's post, but in a different way. I feel that here,
people are using tongue tie as the ONLY clinical diagnosis. I helped a mom
who saw a different IBCLC who had gone back to have a tongue tie clipped 2-3
times? It still was doing nothing for the issues she had, baby was still
under BW at 3 weeks, she was still in pain, but yet we are still insisting
it is the tongue tie?
Are you guys beginning to see this in the US? Every darn baby has a tongue
tie if it won't latch or is not gaining? Frustration! I think with
anything, if you try something a few times, be it TT or thrush medicine, or
whatever, if it aint working, it is probably not the problem.
We need to take a deep breath and say we were not there, or we think we
could approach it slightly differently, and then come and vent in private :)
