A few weeks back, I posted about a mother in pre-term labour. On bed
rest with pain in her breasts and non-stop milk flowing. Quite a few of
you, with experience of this type of pre-term labour, were quite
concerned and made it clear she needed to take the bed rest seriously.
Well, at just shy of 38 weeks, mother was induced due to fluid levels
being at 39 ccs and was already at 3 cms and 75% effaced. Baby was born
vaginally, under epidural, spent 30 minutes not moving much on the
mother, skin to skin without interruption, and then self latched.
Perfect latch. 7lbs 13ozs.
Mother cannot praise the midwives enough, who fought off the OBs when
they pronounced a c-section 'had to happen'. (Midwifery unit at
University of Utah, Salt Lake City).
Initial issues with massive oversupply, mother got proper support. Baby
just gone for two week check up, exclusively breastfed, growing like a
weed, 9lbs, 7ozs, mother and baby as happy as clams. :-)
Just a little gladness to lift your spirits. Not bad for a first time
mother who went into pre-term labour at 30 weeks. :-)
