I think it's c.difficile? another highly contagious bacterial infection.
Past incident: We had a mom readmitted for a fever and small bowel obstruction. Got an order to provide a pump setup for her in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Didn't talk to her as she was intubated when I arrived. Later when she was in a regular room, the "c.diff" diagnosis had been made and the hosp staff gave the pump (coverup never opened, never touched by the mom) to another woman on the Medical-Surgical floor, and recommended that I not go in to see the ill mother whose baby was at home being formula fed by family.
