I was told by my female cardiologist (she did my surgery) to use calendula
(after initial healing) on my pacemaker scar to minimize its appearance. The
usual site for a pacemaker implant is upper left chest, which might concern
some women who like to wear low-cut or strapless clothing. I did as she
recommended and while the scar is visible, it is not prominent. I don't feel self-
conscious when I wear more revealing blouses. I was pleasantly surprised that
a surgeon would even think to recommend something like this.
