I find that when all the reasons to exclusively breastfeed falls on deaf ears, 
mentioning civil battery lawsuits tends to catch their attention.  There is an 
article in the archives of JHL on parents who sued over their babies being 
given formula against their wishes.  Their was also recently a thread on a 
breastfeeding forum where mothers were discussing how and if they would sue 
over formula administration without consent.  
I also really try to emphasize that giving a bottle of formula to a breastfed 
baby is no different than giving a medicaion that has not been ordered.  My 
nurse manager is starting to write incident reports if a breastfed baby is given 
a bottle of formula that is not medically indicated according to the indications 
listed in our policy.
Best of luck to you, I can sincerely empathize, as I know this is a very sticky 
situation.
