I have a friend who went into bookstores with post-it notes already 
written out warning of the dangers of scheduling, and she inserted them 
into the "The Contented Little Baby Book" in the stores... then hid the 
books!

I, on the other hand, on just having to go out to the supermarket and 
purchase some liquid sterile formula and syringes for a friend (who had 
been told by the staff in the hospital that powdered was fine once she 
got home with her 3 day old being supplemented....) found it very 
curious when my hand didn't burst into flames when picking the product 
off the shelf.  No alarm bells went off either, and I keep looking at my 
hand wondering when the flames/blisters will occur... or at very least 
organ music begin to play in the background.  Lest this horror at my 
part be misinterpreted, it's about paying money for it and thus giving 
the company the damn profit.

But I digress.... I found that the only option on the Science of 
Parenting is to have 2 copies, one of which never leaves the house.  I 
do see my other copy fleetingly, as it's passed between new mothers.  Or 
rather, I insist on seeing it every few months.

On the galactosaemia, after an amazing and thorough discussion of such 
on a UK lact list, I've recently discovered that the Galactosaemia rate 
amongst Irish gypsies is at about 4 times that of the wider population, 
coming it at something like 0.02% of all births, as opposed to 0.005%, 
although some cites stated 8 times.

So I have a question... do LactNetters know of any other pockets of the 
population that have significantly increased rates of galactosaemia?

Enquiring minds wish to know......
