Are the Medela pump parts you're having problems with the newer models? 
Because, the new ones come appart- flange from the connector, and of 
course the valve & membranes pull off easily. 

I recommend the Medela Micro-steam bags; all of the staff I work with who 
are pumping swear by them. You simply rise the parts, throw them in the little 
zip lock, microsteam bag, & put in microwave for recommended time. Parts 
remain clean in the bag and each microsteam bag can be used 20 times.
