Perhaps if the pregnant mom approached me, and asked my opinion. But, if she
were a mother at a club meeting, and didn't ask me? Nope. Wouldn't say
anything to her.

When we are trained as LLL Leaders, or at least when I was, nearly 20 years
ago, we are encouraged NOT to make cold calls.

If Sally, a "friend of a friend" called, and asks us to call her friend,
Julie because of x or y, we encourage Sally to ask Julie to call us. It
could be that Sally has issues, it could be that Julie isn't doing things
the way Sally wants, or it could be that Julie truly needs some input. If WE
make the call to Julie, we put ourselves between Sally and Julie. If JULIE
makes the call, it is a direct contact, initiated by someone who believes
she needs input. Otherwise, we're being a buttinski.

I'm with the "offer if you're asked" camp. Having homeschooled my kids for
12 years, believe me, offering me information on the public school system
does nothing to entice me, it usually puts me off! If I want information,
I'll ask.

Best wishes,
Sam Doak
