With regard to this patient I contacted a good friend who has had MS for 20 years. I will gladly share her e-mail privately if you wish to pass it on.This is what she had to say.
I have done much research as you know and it is hard to tell someone not to take drugs since I am not walking so good right now, but I believe I am much better off. There is tons of information online. Here are just a few that I had saved that discuss the negative stuff about the drugs:

Here is one that discusses some alternate treatments:

Diet and exercise is very important. When I was first diagnosed I started following the Dr. Roy Swank "MS Diet" book. It is basically a low saturated fat, high oil diet and doing moderate exercise. Dr. Swank is a neurologist that studied MS patients for over 30 years and found tremendous results in many MS patients who followed this diet. There is a Swank foundation that you can get all the info:

I have also found out more recently that often gluten and dairy are now so great for those with MS. I have just recently been following that more strictly. I found that there is a diet that was developoed by someone in the UK that is more strick, dairy, grains, legumes, eggs and yeast. Also any foods that you may be sensitive to.

As we all know, everyone is different. It is a matter of really listening to our bodies. I am stong believer that our bodies were made to heal themselves if given the right tools and environment.
