I have had a mom who has been diagnosed w/ Tinea Versicolor contact me
regarding breastfeeding. Her due date is today and she has been dealing w/
this skin condition off and on through her pregnancy. She is being treated
with Lotrimin currently, and her concern is that she will pass it to baby while
breastfeeding, not from her breastmilk, but bc of the baby laying on her
breasts. I have read it is not contagious to the baby, but I am wondering
about the possibility of a thrush like infection developing bc of the fact that
the rash is located under her breasts. I am finding very limited info on this
subject and was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.
Thank you to anyone who can help,
Heather
