I would wonder if the mother is taking in a lot of iron supplements. It is
unlikely, given her knowledge of nutrition, but I have met more than 2
mothers whose baby's were constipated until the mother went off the iron
supplement.
Otherwise, I agree with the previous comments about nursing first, limiting
cereal, and encouraging high fiber (prunes) high fluid (melon)foods.

Infant is currently receiving an estimated 22 oz. breastmilk daily. Mom is
not limiting amount of breastfeeds or breastmilk. Baby is gaining by leaps
and bounds. Baby began to have hard pebble-like stools after introduction of
cereal which the mother has since discontinued. >>
