There is absolutely NO evidence or even suspicion that maternal to 
infant transmission of cancer occurs in Paget's disease of the nipple 
(which is a completely different disease than Paget's disease of bone).

A mom breastfeeding with Paget's will generally have sore nipples that 
will not be relieved through normal measures. As the cancer progresses, 
milk production may decline and the mother or baby may stop wanting to 
use that breast. If the nipple cancer is not treated, women generally 
develop a solid tumor of the breast.

The last woman with Paget's disease that I saw was not diagnosed until 
several different physicians saw her, and by that time she had a 10cm 
tumor as well. This is an important diagnosis to be aware of when women 
have nipple pain that does not resolve. Women may need to seek second 
and third opinions, and be very assertive in seeking care to ensure that 
the condition is not minimized as a "breastfeeding problem" by physicians.
