Hi Mickey,
Poor little one. Yeasty rashes ARE very itchy... Can the baby do oatmeal
soaks? The rash itself is not dangerous..The only danger would be from
itching to the point to breaking skin and causing secondary infection. Oatmeal
is very soothing and use it alot for poison oak etc. Did mom do a full coarse of
Diflucan treatment? Day one 400 mg, then 200 mg daily X 21 days? What
about grapefruit seed extract and maybe some gentian on her nipples? Be
sure to tell the mom that this isn't from "her" milk....It's from the antibiotics.
Glad to hear she is dairy free...Keep her away from sugars too. Yeast thrives
on sugar in our diet.
Please stay in touch... Maybe someone else can post on what I may have
missed. I feel for baby and the Yeast rash. It can be miserable...If the
topicals are not helpful, ask about the oatmeal bath. You can buy it over the
counter in little bags for the bath.
Take Care
Robin
