While intubation does deform the palate, it's not the deformed palate
that causes the feeding problems, it's the illness that led to the need
for intubation. I've seen many babies with channel palates from
intubation, some breastfed well if they were over the initial insult,
others did not if they were still struggling with neurological issues
affecting muscle tone and coordination, respiratory issues, and/or stamina.
