Ahh, but "nursing" blurs the line between bottle feeding and breastfeeding.
A "nurser bottle", "I'm nursing my baby" (while holding a bottle), the
"nursing caries" instead of "baby bottle rot syndrome".

Again, it emphasizes bottle feeding as the norm, or at least takes the heat
off the mother who decides not to breastfeed. We don't want to offend
anyone, apparently.

Best wishes,

I wanted to contribute my 2 cents to the topic of Nursing V Breastfeeding.
I find that breastfeeding requires no clarification where nursing has
several different interpretations. Recently an article was written in a
local hospital magazine, it was titled "Nursing 101". As a health care
professional immersed in the US health care system, I assumed the article
was about "Nursing" the profession.

When I saw the article was about breastfeeding, I was very disappointed with
the title. I felt that may mothers/families may have skipped reading the
article because they too may have perceived it to be about the profession of
nursing or the nursing shortage which is highly publicized.
