Greetings all,
I have just discovered an excellent book to counteract the proponents
of "sleep training" and "controlled crying".
It is called "Helping your Baby to Sleep: Why Gentle Techniques Work
Best", by Annie Gethin and Beth Macgregor, (Australian Association for
Infant Mental Health). Finch Publishers, Sydeny, 2007.
The book doesn't seem to be available in the UK, Canada, or USA yet,
but it is available from most online booksellers in Australia, including
Capers Bookstore and also from Kalahari.net in South Africa.
I think breastfeeding can be greatly facilitated if parents and
professionals have the information in this book. Highly recommended!
Warm greetings,
Pat
