Dear Everyone, I normally read only. I love the
compassion I see and appreciate the information that
helps me do a better job. I have worked as a PA in the
past; I have been a LLLLeader for almost 15 years, and
I am working as a WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator at
present. In 2004 I went to Guatemala on a medical
mission trip. I was sad to see how much formula went
with us, UNTIL I SAW THE NEED. In a place where
breastfeeding is normal, we saw so many mommies afraid
for their babies because their milk had dried up. I
did not have time or translators enough to find out
what happened. I know that the formula bought them
some time and hopefully they could build their
supplies again. When the Brothers discovered I could
help with nursing, suddenly I had a lot of business. I
hope to goodness I was helpful. Just my two cents....
Eternally grateful for this list,
Rowena Tucker BS, MA, PA, IBCLC (and MOM to one
amazing child)
