Hi, All: There must be a study somewhere about this topic, but I am not
aware of any. There, however, is plenty of anecdotal evidence that
breastMILK aids healing. For those two moms who are facing surgery, why
couldn't they use some of their milk on the incision site to aid in wound
healing? Recently, LN posters were relating incident after incident where rapid
wound healing occurred after use of human milk on the site. If these surgeries
could not be delayed until weaning occurred, I would certainly recommend the
mothers use their own milk for healing, both topically and by drinking their milk
to boost their own immune system.
