"I would wake him up due to the concern over vicodin" The concern was on
ONE case only and it was codeine. Codeine in very rare cases, metabolizes
rapidly in the liver causing a rare phenomenon of condensing to morphine, and
seems to build up in the body and passes to breastmilk via the blood stream.
Please remember moms with c/s need some sort of pain relief and their
providers are putting them on vicodin now, because of one rare event with
codeine. Please hear me, Many moms may need pain relief/not just the ones
with c-sections. Eat lots of fiber and drink plenty of fluids. One more thing to
scare moms away from breastfeeding. What about all the recalls on formula!
I seem to remember talking about this before. The next recall of formula is
going to be posted on the formula cabinet. Why oh why do they ALWAYS pick
on something in breastmilk. I'm sick of it.
