[AAP report quoted saying there is no evidence that delaying solids

Atopic disease isn't the only medical problem out there!
What was not considered in the quoted clinical report was infection
risk. Chantry's paper, published in Pediatrics, found that introducing
complementary foods between 4 and 6 months (compared to exclusive
breastfeeding for 6 months) has dramatic effects on a baby. Early
solids more than quadruple the risk of pneumonia, and also almost double
the risk of recurrent ear infection. This was after controlling for
smoking, childcare, and demographic variables.
