I have a client that states when she is nursing or pumping (has returned to
work and pumps 2-3 times during her 8 hr day) she feels shaky and nauseated
like her sugar is low. She has not cut down her calories. She usually eats
peanut butter and crackers or a carb with protein but takes her 20-30 min to
feel better. I have suggested she try eating the carb and protein 20-30 min
before feeding or pumping to see if it resolves. All of my resources address the
infant with hypoglycemia not the mother. I also suggested she follow up with
her health care provider if eating prior doesn't help. Has anyone of you
experienced this or had a client with this complaint. Feel free to email me
privately if you wish. Either of these emails will be good.
