I think it would make communication easier on Lactnet if whenever you used
an abbreviation in a post, you defined it the first time you use it in that
post. I know some of the medical abbreviations are very obvious to those of
you who work in a hospital and use them daily, but even after 16 years in
lactation, I have never worked in a hospital and many of those abbreviations
are very difficult for me to figure out. I can imagine it's much worse for
the many Lactnetters who speak English as a second language. Have mercy on
us, folks!
